Karen Scrivens

Karen Scrivens
Karen has been head of Langley Mill CE Infant School and Nursery for 11 years which was graded as good in the most recent March 16 Ofsted Inspection. In her 20 years of primary teaching she has worked in two schools with a high number of disadvantaged pupils and prides herself in finding innovative ways to raise standards for disadvantaged pupils. Karen has previously supported a number of aspirant headteachers, providing shadow days focussed on key areas of development. She has also supported a headteacher new to post, working on school improvement planning, monitoring and evaluation and appraisal. She works closely with the Diocese, providing model lessons, policies and procedures to colleagues in church schools across two counties. She also works in collaboration with the DSCB as an active member of the sub-committee representing education. She has used expertise in this field in her local cluster schools by ensuring colleagues are up to date with changes in safeguarding requirements; that all safeguarding arrangements are fit for purpose and that safeguarding records are detailed and of high quality.
