Intent

Ofsted uses the term ‘Intent’ to describe your setting’s agreed way of working, it’s about the aims of your setting in helping children develop and learn.

At Alfreton Nursery School we endeavour to make every child’s unique learning journey an inspirational adventure. We provide enhancement opportunities to engage learning and believe that your child’s first experiences of school should be happy and positive, enabling them to develop a lifelong love of learning. Our curriculum offers children the freedom to explore, create, imagine and innovate through the stimulation of their senses through self-chosen activities. By understanding the importance of supporting all our children and their families within our community, we build positive, reciprocal relationships between home and school.

We celebrate the uniqueness of every child, protecting their emotional well-being and empowering them to be happy, inspired learners. Our intent is to immerse children in all elements of creativity, thus encouraging them to become confident, independent and motivated with all aspects of their school experiences. We promote and protect all children’s rights and responsibilities. At Alfreton Nursery School our children are immersed in the key British Values, with a full acceptance of diversity, creating positive, eco, global citizens of the future.
